Emma Morano, who is currently the world’s oldest woman, will
celebrate her 117th birthday in November. Speaking to Agence France-Presse, she
revealed the diet that has, perhaps, kept her thriving for more than a century.
“I eat two eggs a day and that’s it,” she said in a video
interview. “I eat cookies. I don’t eat much because I have no teeth.”
Earlier this year, Morano specified that she eats two raw
eggs everyday, a practice that she took up as a young woman to combat anemia.
Morano has also credited her old age to her many years as a single lady. She
ended a difficult marriage in 1938, and has had plenty of suitors since then.
But she never settled down with a second husband. “I didn’t
want to be dominated by anyone,” she told The New York Times.
