Ndigbo have been described as development partners and good friends
in any community they find themselves.
The wife of the Lagos State governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode
made this remark during
the Igbo day held in Lagos yesterday at the National
Stadium, Surulere.
Represented at the Occasion, by the Wife of the Lagos House
of Assembly Member, representing Lagos Mainland Constituency 1. The Lagos first
lady remarked that working with the Igbos will only make anybody to want them
around always.
She said that the government of Lagos state will continue to
work in harmony with the Igbos and indeed others for the good of Lagos and all
living in the State.
The Chairman of the occasion, Lt. Gen. Azubike Ihejirika
{RTD} urged Ndigbo to borrow a leaf from the Asian Tigers – South Korea, Taiwan,
Singapore etc. who moved away from poor economies to prosperous economies of
the 21st century.
He commended the Igbo intelligentsias who have started
brainstorming on plausible strategies for economic revival of the South East.
The 2016 Igbo day celebration witnessed the crème de la
crème of the society including, Prof. Laz Ekwueme, Pat Utomi, Anya o. Anya,
Rear Admiral Ndubisi Kanu, Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos, Hajia Fatima Kaita who
represented the Presidency, APC national
Woman Leader, Prof Vin. Anigbogu, Chief Oliver Akubeze, Representative of the National
President of Ohanaeze from Enugu, Dr Ferguson Okoli, Ohanaeze president in
Lagos, Eze I.C Uche Dimgba who led about 30 Ezes to the ceremony. Liaison
officers of Imo and Abia States, who represented their Governors among others.
