President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with Solomon
Dalung, minister of youth and sports, over the death of Briskila, his wife.
Dalung had announced her departure via his official Facebook
page. She died in Jos, capital of Plateau state, after a brief illness, on
Sunday.
Nneka Anibeze, special assistant to the minister on media,
said Buhari reached Dalung on phone from London.
Anibeze said the president prayed that God will grant the
soul of the departed eternal rest.
He also prayed to God to give the family she left behind the
fortitude to bear the loss.
The president promised to support the Dalung family in their
moment of grief.
The funeral arrangement of the deceased, who is survived by
her husband and five children, is yet to be announced.
Buhari is expected to return to the country next week. There
have been false reports about the state of his health, with some saying he had
died.
