Hungarian PM quizzed for his controversial education law

Hungarian PM Viktor Orban is under fire over his government’s controversial education reforms, which could see a George Soros-backed university close its doors.

Central European University in Budapest figures in the top 200 universities in the world, but a piece of legislation stating that foreign-funded schools should have a campus in their home country could see it be shut down.

CEU is registered in New York, but it has no campus there. Critics argue Orban is simply trying to stifle academic dissent.
